The Dave Fons Memorial Fund is also proud to announce that we have recently expanded our scholarship program to include trucking school applicants. We are presently offering quarterly scholarships to U.S. Veterans attending SunCoast Trucking Academy in Punta Gorda, FL. To learn more about the Trucking Academy program, please click here.

Trucking Education Scholarships
Scholarship Criteria
The Dave Fons Memorial Fund Trucking Education Scholarships will be awarded on a quarterly basis to U.S. Veteran students in the amount of up to $1000. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Served in the active military, naval, or air service, and were discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable
- Agree to make a good faith effort to complete the training program, obtain a CDL, and accept employment as a driver
- Agree to make a good faith effort to be adherent to best safety practices and procedures
- Agree to make a good faith effort to continue supplemental truck safety education if the opportunity presents itself throughout their career
- Demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship
- Have completed all enrollment steps required by SunCoast Trucking Academy
