This year’s 9th Annual Dave Fons Memorial Fund Golf Tournament broke records, and broke them fast. Registration sold out within 30 days of opening, and when the last putt dropped, we had raised just over $30,000 for the Fund, the most we’ve ever raised in a single golf outing. Thank you to every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer who made it happen.

A New Home at Chemung Hills
This year we moved the tournament to a new venue: Chemung Hills Golf Course & Banquet Center, an Oceola Township-owned property. The course and the team there gave our golfers a beautiful day out and gave our volunteers the room to run a smooth event from registration through awards, a big part of why this year felt like such a step up.

On the Course
Between rounds, golfers took a swing at some friendly competition, including a giant inflatable dartboard that drew a crowd of its own. It’s the kind of day Dave would have loved: golf, friends, and a good cause.

Thank You to Our Champion Sponsors
None of this happens without the generosity of our sponsors. Thank you to this year’s Champion Sponsors: D&R Earthmoving, LLC; Ajax; Marathon; AIS Construction Equipment Corp; San Marino Excavating, Inc.; Cadillac Asphalt, LLC; and Fonson Company. Your support goes directly toward the Dave Fons Memorial Fund’s mission to Drive Toward ZERO Crashes: funding CDL training scholarships, Safe Driver of the Month awards, and safety education for drivers of all kinds.

Congratulations to Our 2026 Champions
Congratulations to Team Biers, this year’s first-place winners, who also took home Best Dressed. The team included Board Member Michael Fons, President Garrett Fons, Nate Rohde, Nick Shelar, Jesse Biers, Josh Sluzarczyk, Vice President Courtney Sprague, Treasurer Craig Fons, and Board Member Matt Payne.

Thank You to Our Volunteers
A tournament this size runs on volunteer hours long before anyone tees off. Thank you to Heather Grove, Jill Fons, Lisa Baker, Board Member Michelle Fons, President Garrett Fons, Carol Fons, Carol Boman, Jacklyn Music, Bill Kotynski, and Deb Kotynski for staffing registration, raffles, and everything in between.

Selling out in 30 days and raising a record $30,000 tells us something: this community shows up for Dave, and for the mission of keeping drivers and families safe on the road. Thank you to everyone who golfed, sponsored, volunteered, and cheered us on. We’ll see you next year.
